About this Project

In 2009, the Eisai pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in RTP, NC, marked a significant project valued at $90 million. Spanning 80,000 sqft, the facility encompassed laboratory, manufacturing, packaging, and warehouse spaces. The project included forward-thinking design elements, and contemplating a future addition during the concept phase. Mr. Scott Collins, involved in all phases, navigated challenges such as vibration control issues in second-floor labs due to microscopes and limitations imposed by the manufacturing process on structural design and placement of walls. The project featured a two-story building, with special attention given to the unique requirements of the manufacturing section. Challenges extended to the cold unit section, incorporating freezers, and the installation of a wastewater neutralization system with a half basement to capture water runoff. The involvement of Collins Structural Consulting, PLLC in the close-out phases ensured the comprehensive completion of this intricate drug manufacturing facility.
